The tour provided volunteers and organisations involving volunteers (OIVs) with an opportunity to meet, showcase their achievements, give live demonstrations and raise awareness about volunteering to visitors. The event programme in each country featured many cultural highlights including dance, theatre and music performances.     		On November 3 - 4 2011, the Global Peter Drucker Forum, one of Europe’s leading management conferences, took place in Vienna, Austria. In the recently-concluded Global Peter Drucker Challenge Essay Contest, students from around the world were invited to submit their compositions, and the winners qualified to attend the Drucker Forum. A young student from Ethiopia, Kidus Gashaw Mehalu of “Activating the Primary Agents of Change in Ethiopia (APACE)”, came in the Top 12, guaranteeing him a seat at the Forum. ICWE covered his travel expenses, thereby making his trip to Vienna possible.ICWE Executive Director, Rebecca Stromeyer said: “Kidus Gashaw Mehalu is an exceptionally talented student and we are delighted to be able to help him to attend the Drucker Forum, which will be an inspiration for him”.    	</description>

The conference had a look at the world of volunteering through the eyes of the volunteering organisations. Following conferences in Hungary and Belgium, Greece was the third country to host a conference on volunteering, especially on quality of volunteering. The event brought together stakeholders from various backgrounds: volunteering NGOs from all fields, but also from business and the National Coordinating Bodies.     		Under the slogan “Around the world in 14 days” ICWE is organising a rally for nine students on behalf of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). On September 6th and 7th 2011 the nine young journalists were trained in Bonn at the DAAD headquarters in preparation for their routes: Latin America, India and Eastern Europe. Three journalists will go on each route and report on the opportunities and prospects of studying in the different continents.
